DESIREE | Good Design Award 2021

We are proud to announce that RITO, the first easy armchair designed for Desiree by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez, won the GOOD DESIGN AWARD®, category Furniture 2021.

Good Design Award® is an ancient and prestigious award given by the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design, and sponsored by the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Founded in Chicago in 1950 by the former MoMA curator Edgar Kaufmann Jr., together with such pioneers in modern design as Charles and Ray Eames, Russel Wright, George Nelson, and Eero Saarinen, GOOD DESIGN® honors the yearly achievements of the best industrial and graphic designers and world manufacturers for their pursuit of extraordinary design excellence.

RITO skilfully combines opposites, playing on an interesting combination made up of the lightness and minimalism of the structure in tubular metal and the softness and generosity of the padded seat.
It’s a magnificent example of sophisticated simplicity based on a concept best-described by three keywords: lightness, simplicity and sleekness.
